Safe Handling Instructions

Our durable, stackable crates are designed for easy and safe handling. To ensure your safety and prevent injuries while handling our crates, please follow these guidelines.

1. Prepare Before Handling

  • Check the Load:
    • Check the weight and size of the crate (each empty crate 3.5kgs). Packed crates have varying weights that you should be aware of before lifting.
    • Do not lift crates over 20 kg, use a trolley or dolly instead.
  • Clear the Area:
    • Ensure the delivery area is free of obstacles, well-lit, and not slippery.
    • Plan a clear path from the delivery point to the storage or unpacking area.
  • Wear Protective Gear:
    • Use non-slip, closed-toe shoes and gloves for better grip and hand protection.

2. Lift Safely

  • Use Proper Lifting Technique:
    • Squat, Don’t Bend: Bend at the knees, not the waist, to use leg muscles to lift.
    • Keep It Close: Hold the crate close to your body to reduce back strain.
    • Avoid Twisting: Turn your whole body by moving your feet, not just your torso.
  • Avoid High Lifts:
    • Do not lift crates above shoulder height. Use a step stool for stacking at height.

3. Use Equipment

  • Trolleys or Dollies:
    • Use a flatbed trolley or hand truck to move multiple or heavy crates.
    • Stack no more than 4-5 crates (packed) on a trolley to ensure stability and visibility.
  • Pallet Jacks (if applicable):
    • For palletized deliveries, use a pallet jack to move crates to the desired location.
  • Check Equipment:
    • Ensure trolleys or jacks are rated for the total weight of the crates.

4. Stack and Store Safely

  • Stable Stacking:
    • Place crates on flat, level surfaces to prevent tipping.
    • Stack heavier crates at the bottom and lighter ones on top.
  • Keep Accessible:
    • Keep stacks below chest height (1.5 meters) to avoid overreaching.
    • Place frequently used crates within easy reach.
  • Storage Conditions:
    • Store crates in a dry, well-ventilated area to protect contents.
    • Leave space around stacks for safe access.

5. Stay Safe

  • Take Breaks:
    • Rest during prolonged handling to avoid fatigue-related injuries.
  • Watch the Weather:
    • Check for rain to avoid slippery surfaces.
  • Know Your Limits:
    • Do not attempt to lift beyond your physical capability-use equipment instead.
